“Bite me,” his sister whispered. “Come here and bite me…”
The boy put his finger to his lips. “Hush! You’ll scare it off! Besides, it’s my turn to get bitten.”
We’ll see about that, the glimmer in her eyes said. His mouth curled into a smile: challenge accepted.
The two children crept forward. Their suntanned arms were stretched out to a tiny dot on the wall, like compass needles pointing north. Their ‘north pole’ however had legs and wings, so flimsy they almost disappeared against the backdrop of flowery, yellowed wallpaper. It was a miracle he had s
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through dA,
Not a troll was stirring, nor Grinch in his sleigh.
Deviations were hung in digital Galleries with care,
In hopes that +Favourites soon would be there.
The n00bs were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Daily Deviations danced in their heads.
And Fella in his 'kerchief, and spyed (https://www.deviantart.com/spyed) with his night-light,
Had just settled down to log-off for the night,
When over in the Forums there arose such a clatter,
Fella sprang back online to see what was the matter.
To the browser window he flew like a flash,
Tore open the tabs and refreshed the cache.
When what to his art-loving ey

$5 is hardly anything for a commission, heres why
Edit: Okay, wow--If I knew this journal would get the attention that it's getting I would have tried to make it sound a bit more professional and a bit less ranty im almost a little embarrassed
I'm also really glad that so many of you could share your input and experiences. It's really important that we understand this--especially on a site with so many young, impressionable artists. It's easy for us to think that our time is only worth the end product. When i first joined this site (i was 13), the first type of commission that I took was a full picture for only 5 points. Granted--it didn't look the best. i was only 13 after all, but at the

Taking Photos Of Strangers in Public Places
Photographing strangers without their consent is a thorny issue.
Many photographers feel awkward, shy or embarrassed when they first attempt street photography.
Many are worried about people's reaction to being photographed.
Many are afraid or uncertain about the laws concerning privacy and photography.
Since street photography is candid by definition, these issues can't be avoided.
Let's examine them and find some possible solutions.
"The practice of observing and photographing people in candid situations is a direct expression of human curiosity. A street photographer recognizes in a split s

So i usually buy art from tenchibaka (https://www.deviantart.com/tenchibaka)
and they buy art from me.
So today tenchibaka (https://www.deviantart.com/tenchibaka) bought art from me
but when tenchibaka (https://www.deviantart.com/tenchibaka) tried to send me points (to pay for the work i had done) this last time it said they had hit the annual limit.
whats the annual limit you may ask
they can only send $200 dollar worth of points to one person per year.
as someone who goes to the same artists for their business this is very bad.
i'm writing this to let everyone know that DA is preventing users from using their points to pay for commissions.
they are taking away income from artists who ge

Buyer/Seller Protection for Adoptables (READ)
I am making this to clear the air on the common misconception of making rules for adoptables, also to help EVERYONE involved. Recently I have been making a lot of anti-seller journals that make me seem super shady, but I am on both sides.
You are not protected if you have your rules in your adoptables' description, ending with a, "You agree to these terms upon purchase." That is not enough to protect you, especially in court.
Adoptables are known as intellectual properties, or IP for short.
"Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images us

Depression isn’t true, my dear
Depression isn’t real.
It’s just a silly tragedy
You’ve forced yourself to feel.
Anxiety is fake, my friend
You wonder why it’s there.
But others have it worse than you!
Stop forming false despair.
Cutting is dramatic, love,
It’s ugly, and it’s dumb.
Why not just get over it?
Is the attention fun?
Suicide is stupid, dear,
And selfish, if I may.
Get over yourself, darling,
Can you hear these things I say?
Why aren’t you replying, love?
Oh, where could you have gone?
I never meant to hurt you, love,
Did I say something wrong?
Why aren’t you replying, dear
